This weekend, starting Thursday the 31st just as the weather cools down, is our first weekend of 2 Back to School Bash events.
We are bringing back a fan favorite: The Pajama Party(with perfect weather to enjoy some comfy pjs in public!). And it's paw-ty time as we are fundraising for local animal shelters that my wife Nora loved to support and visit. You can bring out donations of dog and cat food and cat litter to the drive-in Friday- Sunday and we'll give you a free coupon for 2 admissions for your donation. We are also collecting 10% of the total food/drink/merch sales to split up and donate to the organizations and we have all the fun Superman/Krypto merch discounted and as prize packs for our most creative PJ's contest.
Bring your furry friends: dogs, cats etc. Just make sure they stay in the car, or on a leash at all times outside the car. We ask that those coming are friendly, do well in public and you clean up after them. We have 4 dog walk areas around the theater to use free pup cups at the Burger Barn(Friday & Saturday) and free treats at the ticket booth.
We are showing The Bad Guys 2 on screen 1 and Fantastic 4 First Steps on screen 2. Plus we have collectible merch for both movies including plushies, popcorn tins/tubs and cups/kid's combos with characters.
Check out this brand new review of Bad Guys 2 and plan to join us this weekend for all the fun-
"One of DreamWorks' best sequels, and I easily think it's way better than the first one. The story is more exciting, the characters are funnier, and there's way more action. The old and new characters are even funnier this time around, and they all work really well together. I liked the first movie, but this one just feels more fun and more entertaining overall."
Tickets available now at drive-in.fun or at the gate the night of the show.
Family fun & comedy for a great cause? Join us Friday and Saturday August 8th & 9th as we host weekend 2 of our Back to School bash with new movies Freakier Friday on screen 1 and The Bad Guys 2 on screen 2.
Not only do we have the movies, but we have special menu items, collectibles, and we are hosting this event as a fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish Foundation with special foundation guests in attendance. A portion of all food/drink/merch sales and food permits will go to the organization at the conclusion of the event.
And we wanted to make it fun, so we are bringing back our annual kid's Box Car Build Off, Glow Fun and Pajama Party with prizes for best and most creative box cars as well as PJs at intermission each night.
Grab your tickets now and join us as we enter our Back to School hours and kick off our end of the season events August-December before we close for the 2025 season.

Furter, Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick as his hapless guests Brad and Janet, Meat Loaf as motorcycle-riding rough trade and author Richard O’Brien as the hunchbacked butler Riff Raff. It’s harmless musical fun—a delightful spoof of Hollywood horror movies and Old Dark House melodramas. September 1965, an EF2 tornado touched down in McClean county and continued into Ford County and the edge of Gibson City IL including the destruction of much of the Harvest Moon Drive-in. Damage included a roof flung hundreds of feet, windows shattered, walls demolished, a fence completely ripped apart and only the skeletal steel structure of the screen tower left standing. It looked like a scene directly out of a movie..... one that would arrive in 1996 when TWISTER hit the big screen at theaters and drive-ins around the world, and brought out the first sold out capacity crowd at the Harvest Moon Twin Drive-in and's 2nd screen.
In 2024, we put together the original Twisters Weather Weekend as we hosted storm chasers from across the US, live weather broadcasts, The Extreme Twister Fanatics tribute truck, storm simulator and a combo of the classic Twister followed by the new release Twisters. We held the event for 2 weekends of sold out shows and made more drive-in/Twister history.
In 2025, we're bringing it back with even more bang for you buck as we celebrate our 60th anniversary of the tornado hitting the Harvest Moon with Twisters Weather Weekend 2.0 August 22nd-24th!
Friday and Saturday 8.22-23, we are showing the double feature of Twister followed by Twisters on both screens with an epic line-up of event extras including: Storm Chaser Car Show! Chasers and local meteorologists welcome to bring chase vehicles and tell stories from real life weather events. Meet the Storm Chasers! Once again, chasers from across the Midwest are coming to see you before the show and during the intermission! Twister Tube Storm Simulator for photos and video fun. Themed food & Drinks, Photo Op Areas. The Extreme twister tribute truck is coming out for photos, reels, and bringing a slew of screen used props from the Twister museum in Wakita plus limited merch and collectible items.
And the best part.... We are bringing out Sean Whalen and possibly another special guest both nights for meet and greet, autographs and photo ops(extra charge for autographs/photo ops) with a portion of that going to Nora Harroun's memorial fundraisers. Sean is flying in from LA fresh off of releasing a new horror movie he directed and has appeared in HUNDREDS of hit movies, ads, shows and more! He'll be doing a Q&A along with the event Friday and Saturday night.
Tickets will go on sale this weekend and the admission covers the meet and greet on Friday/Saturday and many of the extras. Admission for this exclusive event is $15 for adults(age 12 & up) and $10 for kids(age 4-11) with little ones age 3 and younger free. Food Permits, special parking, rentals etc. still apply at regular prices.
Sunday night we will still have the event with some of the extras, but are just hosting the screening on Screen 1 and the celebrity guests are not able to attend the Sunday night show. Regular admission rates apply to Sunday night.
Don't miss out on this exclusive 1 weekend only event! Want to sponsor our special guests? PM us for sponsorship info and benefits!
Looking to see a rocking new movie with some local talent? Join us Sunday August 24th on screen 2 as we celebrate the 5th Anniversary of the first post-covid rock and roll shows in the US and host a special night featuring the new Local H movie LIFERS followed by Phantasm as a double feature. Scott Lucas will be here for a special introduction to the movie, there will be posters and possibly other Local H merch available, and a Q&A after the Lifers movie during the intermission before Phantasm starts. It promises to be an unforgettable night under the stars.
Gates open at 7pm, movie will start around 8:20 pm. Snack Bar is open for dining options with specials for this event and our Twisters event on the opposite screen.
LIFERS- "LIFERS" is a movie about the band Local H, written, directed, and edited by their singer/guitarist Scott Lucas. It blends elements of a documentary and a concert film, capturing a real-time performance at the Metro in Chicago, along with the experiences of concert-goers. The film is described as a "borderline psychedelic cinematic rock n' roll experience". It's not strictly a documentary or a concert film, but a hybrid, similar to Led Zeppelin's "The Song Remains The Same" and Richard Linklater's "Slacker".
PHANTASM- The residents of a small town have begun dying under strange circumstances, leading young Mike (Michael Baldwin) to investigate. After discovering that the Tall Man (Angus Scrimm), the town's mortician, is killing and reanimating the dead as misshapen zombies, Mike seeks help from his older brother, Jody (Bill Thornbury), and local ice cream man Reggie (Reggie Bannister). Working together, they try to lure out and kill the Tall Man, all the while avoiding his minions and a deadly silver sphere.
Following Local H tradition, tickets are affordable and available now on our website DRIVE-IN.FUN in the regular ticketing links at normal movie admission prices.
More info coming soon.
